| Authentic Lionel New Haven F3's are one of the rarest Lionel locos!Collecting them is complicated by the fact that Lionel created a body mold for them that differs from all other F3'sSee photo showing side by side pictures of the front of a Southern and a New Haven F3To provide a smooth surface on which to print the "NH", they eliminated the door handle on the door located on the noseVery few New Havens were produced - most found today are fakes on molds with the door handleThis New Haven is all original with the correct bodyVarious marks are as described belowThe loco has several rubs in the white at the right rear and a rub in the silver edge above themThere is a rub in the silver on the side corner of the roof in front of and above the enginer's windowThere is a 'pencil mark" in the roof slightly to the rear of the engineer's window and horn, and 4 more in front of the hornThere are several pencil lines and dots on the fireman's side of the roof above the front end of the long orange stripeThere is a 1/4th inch slight rub on the rear edge of the large rectangle at the rear of the loco and another at the rear edge of the roofWe want you to see exactly what this extremely rare unit is like, and don't want the emphasis amd magnified views on the marks to detract from the overall very nice appearanceIt took the original owner 12 years to acquire a better specimen that was a true original |
